A legendary Nigerian afrobeat entertainer, Oladapo Oyebanjo, a.k.a. D’banj, has been released by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) after spending three days in custody.
D’banj was arrested many weeks after turning down the ICPC’s offer to be questioned on Tuesday in Nigeria’s bustling Lagos city.
The former member of the Mo Hits squad was granted bail by the anti-graft agency on Thursday with the condition that he might be called in for more investigations later.
D’banj was being held by the ICPC for allegedly defrauding the Nigerian government of unemployment benefits through a scheme known as N-power.
