A former Nigerian boxer, Moses Olapade, has allegedly sent his wife, Tinuke, into a coma after a heated dispute over the television remote turned violent.

This disturbing incident took place in the Oke-Aro Community in Akure, Ondo State.

What Led to the Dispute

Moses, a 56-year-old truck driver, had just returned home from a journey and wanted to watch a particular program on TV. However, his wife was already watching something else and refused to hand over the remote control. The situation quickly escalated into a heated argument that turned physical, with the ex-boxer reportedly raining punches on his wife.

“Tinuke was said to have refused to give her husband the remote to tune in to his preferred channel leading to an argument that quickly escalated into a physical assault.” – A Source told The Punch News.

Neighbors Intervene, Wife Hospitalized

The couple’s children were screaming during the altercation, which alerted the neighbors. They rushed to the scene and found Tinuke unconscious. She was then quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where she was resuscitated.

Police Investigation

Despite the severity of the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, stated that she had not yet been briefed on the matter. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Area (B Division Police Station) also claimed that the case had not been reported to the police station.
