Nnamdi Kanu’s trial on terrorism and treason has been postponed again until April 8th, 2022, a judge said Wednesday.
Federal High Court in Abuja led by Justice Binta Nyako adjourns till April 8th Nnamdi Kanu’s application seeking to dismiss charges against him.
Kanu — whose given name is Nwannekaenyi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu — trial began in October 2021, with Kanu being accused of “terrorism, treason, involvement with a banned separatist movement, inciting public violence through radio broadcasts, and defamation of Nigerian authorities through broadcasts”. He pleaded non-guilty in all cases.

Mike Ozekhome, the counsel to Nnamdi Kanu told Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court that the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is losing his sight.
Ozekhome said:
- “My lord, since 2015, his glasses were taken from him.
- “The one he wore before his extraordinary rendition from Kenya was also taken from him.
- “Till now, he does not have glasses to wear and his sight is deteriorating.“
