The latest trending news in Edo State Nigeria today is the ritualist den in Benin with 20 mummified bodies.
A suspected ritual temple was dismantled on August 17, 2022, by members of the Edo State Police Command acting in accordance with their operational duty to prevent crimes in the state.
According to the command, the police were informed by reliable sources that some bodies had been found in a structure along the Asoro slope off Ekenhua Road in the Uzebu neighborhood of Benin City.
According to the information obtained by MandyNews.com, the command’s opertives immediately swung into action and mobilized to the scene.
The authorities claim three suspects were detained at the scene while others fled, including Chimaobi Okoewu (a male) and Oko Samuel (a male), both from Afikpo in Ebonyi, and Gideon Sunday “M” from Akwa-Ibom State.
To date, according to the police authorities, a serious attempt is being made to apprehend the other suspects who are running away.
Three mummified female corpses, two mummified child corpses, and 15 mummified male bodies were found at the scene.
