Des Moines, Iowa: In the wake of the Perry High School shooting on Thursday, which resulted in multiple injuries, social media speculation has centered around an individual named Dylan Butler. Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante confirmed the shooter’s identity has been established, but did not disclose the name.

Social Media Speculation:
Online discussions quickly turned to Dylan Butler, with users alleging his involvement based on objectionable content posted on TikTok, including a song titled ‘Stray Bullet’ played just before the incident. However, all profiles linked to these claims have since been deleted.

Suspect’s Death:
Authorities reported that the suspect in the Perry shooting died from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This information was confirmed by a law enforcement official to The Associated Press. At least one of the victims is reported to be a school administrator.

Online Claims:
A user on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, identified the shooter as “Gender Fluid Perry School shooter Dylan Butler,” alleging Butler’s use of SSRIs for gender confusion. The user claimed Butler posted on TikTok prior to the shooting spree.

Further Allegations:
Another social media claim suggested Dylan also went by the name Colby and was a Perry High School graduate from three years ago. Internet personality Collin Rugg tweeted about capturing a screen recording of Butler’s TikTok account, describing the account as featuring a pride flag and content indicative of mental illness and drug use.

Victims and Hospitalization:
Two victims of the shooting were transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Additional patients were taken to MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, though details on the number of patients or their conditions were not disclosed by the spokesperson.
