Who is the richest nonagenarian in the world?

The title of richest nonagenarian in the world, in turn, goes to mega-investor Warren Buffett . At 93 years old, the billionaire accumulates assets of more than US$133 billion (the equivalent of R$666.1 billion) and occupies 6th place on the Forbes list. SEE THE TOP 10 HERE.

Known as the “Oracle of Omaha”, Buffett is considered by many to be the most successful investor of the 20th century. He is the main shareholder and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Berkshire Hathaway group.

Born in 1930 in the United States, Buffett began investing in stocks at a young age, influenced by his father, who worked as a financial market operator. He bought his first shares when he was just 11 years old.

An entrepreneur from an early age, his first business was in high school, when he and a friend bought a pinball machine and installed it in a barbershop. With the profit, the friends bought and installed three other machines and, in a short time, sold the business for US$1,200.

Then, in 1956, the mega-investor opened the Buffett Partnership, making a profit by investing in companies that were valued below their real value.

It was through this holding company that, four years later, the businessman began buying shares in Berkshire Hathaway, in the textile sector, until, in 1965, he was already in charge of the company. With that, he dismantled the Buffett Partnership to focus on the new business.

Gradually, Berkshire Hathaway exited the textile business and began buying assets from various sectors to found a conglomerate. Among the large companies in which Buffett owns full or partial shares are: Apple, Coca-Cola, American Express, Duracell, among others.

With degrees from Columbia University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Buffett is married and has three children.
